Before royal titles, Netflix deals, and global headlines, Meghan Markle was just another cast member on Suits — but according to her on-screen love interest, things weren’t always smooth behind the scenes.
Patrick J. Adams, who famously played Mike Ross opposite Markle’s Rachel Zane, is now spilling some eyebrow-raising details about their time filming the hit legal drama — and let’s just say, he remembers a lot of eye rolls.
During a candid appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Adams joked that Markle had a very specific reaction to his sense of humor — and it wasn’t always applause.
“I got a lot of eye rolls,” he admitted, laughing. “That was kind of a constant with Meghan.”
The actor even poked fun at his own lingering connection to Markle’s fame. His Instagram bio cheekily reads: “The other guy from that show that you’re watching on that app because that girl married that prince.” According to Adams, it’s exactly the kind of joke Markle would have reacted to with — you guessed it — another eye roll.
And while fans might assume the former co-stars still keep in touch, Adams made it clear their relationship has cooled over the years.
“We’re not really in touch,” he previously shared, noting that Markle’s life has taken a dramatically different path since marrying Prince Harry and stepping into the global spotlight.
Still, it’s not all icy vibes.
Adams revealed Markle did reach out with a “lovely text” when he launched a Suits rewatch podcast with co-star Sarah Rafferty, showing there’s at least some goodwill left between them.
But when it comes to her latest ventures? Adams couldn’t help but throw in one more playful jab.
After Markle launched her lifestyle brand As Ever — complete with curated jam and flower sprinkles sent to select insiders — Adams admitted he didn’t make the guest list.
“I don’t have enough followers, I don’t think,” he joked.
The pair last worked together on Suits from 2011 to 2017, building one of the show’s most beloved romances before Markle exited ahead of her royal wedding in 2018. Adams was even among the invited guests at the lavish Windsor Castle ceremony — a sign that, at least at one point, their bond extended far beyond the screen.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry himself once revealed he made the “mistake” of watching Suits while dating Markle — and quickly regretted it after stumbling across one of her steamy scenes.
Safe to say, the past keeps resurfacing — and fans are eating up every last behind-the-scenes detail.
