A Mexican television host is facing fierce backlash after angrily kicking a flying drone during a live broadcast, accidentally sending it crashing into a female model’s face and leaving her injured as stunned cast members rushed to help.
The shocking incident unfolded during an episode of the late-night comedy and variety program Es Show, broadcast on Multimedios Television in Monterrey, Mexico, where veteran presenter Ernesto Chavana was filming a segment alongside several models.
What began as an ordinary television appearance quickly spiraled into chaos when a small camera drone flew dangerously close to the host.
Apparently irritated by the buzzing device, Chavana suddenly lashed out, kicking it across the studio while demanding that it be moved away from him.
But the impulsive move had an immediate and painful consequence.
The drone flew directly into the face of model Isabella Rojas, who instinctively grabbed her face and doubled over as other cast members gasped in shock.

The studio initially erupted in nervous laughter, but the mood quickly changed when it became clear that Rojas had been injured.
As the visibly shaken model clutched her face, several women gathered around her before helping her off the set to receive medical attention.
Rather than immediately approaching Rojas, Chavana initially appeared to direct his frustration toward the production crew.
“See what you have done,” he told staff members, seemingly blaming the incident on the drone being flown near him.
The uncomfortable exchange only intensified the backlash after footage of the incident spread across social media.
Fortunately, Rojas returned to the broadcast several minutes later and reassured viewers that she was going to be OK.
However, she revealed that the impact had split her lip, briefly smiling to show the injury as she explained what had happened.
Chavana eventually addressed the incident and publicly apologized to his injured colleague, acknowledging that his actions had caused the accident.
“I’m very sorry. I am responsible for what just happened,” he said.
“I feel very ashamed and embarrassed for what I have just done,” he continued, explaining that he had reacted impulsively when the drone approached him.
The host even attempted to inject some humor into the uncomfortable situation, joking that his new shoes might have contributed to the mishap.
But many viewers were not laughing.
The viral footage triggered criticism from social media users who questioned why Chavana had kicked the drone toward other performers and why he had not immediately checked on Rojas.
Others raised concerns about safety precautions on the television set, arguing that flying camera equipment should never have been allowed to create such a dangerous situation during a live broadcast.
The controversy is not Chavana’s first on-air incident.
In August 2024, the longtime television personality announced his resignation from Es Show following a heated disagreement with colleagues and production staff. He later returned to the program after reaching an agreement with the network.
This time, however, the fallout involves an injured coworker rather than a verbal confrontation.
Mexican media reported that the show’s production team said Chavana would cover expenses related to the incident. No formal disciplinary action had been publicly confirmed as of Wednesday, October 28.
Although Rojas appeared to escape without serious injuries, the bizarre accident has left viewers questioning how a moment of frustration on live television could so quickly turn into a frightening ordeal.
