Female Substitute Teacher Arrested for Disturbing Crimes

A Texas school district is facing a disturbing situation after a substitute teacher was arrested over alleged inappropriate contact with students.

Angela Palmares, 27, was taken into custody in Bell County on Wednesday and charged with improper relationship between an educator and student — a second-degree felony. Jail records show she is currently being held on a $150,000 bond.

According to officials with the Llano Independent School District, the investigation began after concerns were raised about “inappropriate communication” between Palmares and students outside of school hours. Superintendent Mac Edwards said the interactions allegedly took place through a social media platform.

Authorities have not released specific details about the messages, and it remains unclear how many students may have been involved or their ages.

Palmares last worked for the district on April 2 and was immediately removed from the substitute teacher list once the allegations surfaced, according to the Llano County Sheriff’s Office.

School officials say they have been in contact with the parents of any potentially impacted students as the investigation continues.

“The district takes all allegations of this nature extremely seriously and remains committed to providing a safe and supportive environment to students,” Edwards said in a message to families, adding that further details are limited due to privacy concerns.
