Trainee Bus Driver Plunges into River in Terrifying Crash

A routine training drive turned into a terrifying scene straight out of a movie when a bus suddenly veered off course and plunged into a river near Paris.

The shocking crash happened in Juvisy-sur-Orge, just south of the French capital, when a trainee bus driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle during a lesson. Within seconds, the bus barreled off the road and into the River Seine, sending bystanders into panic.

Miraculously, everyone inside made it out alive.

Officials say four people were on board at the time—the trainee driver, an instructor, and two passengers—and all were pulled to safety without serious injuries. Even more incredible, a parked car that was struck and dragged into the river by the bus was empty.

Witnesses rushed to help as the bus sat partially submerged, with people scrambling to get those inside to safety before emergency crews arrived.

When first responders showed up, the scene quickly escalated into a full-scale rescue operation. Fire trucks, boats, divers, and even a helicopter swarmed the area as crews worked to secure the vehicles and make sure no one else was trapped beneath the water.

Local mayor Lamia Bensarsa Reda said she was left completely shaken by what she saw.

“I’ve never experienced anything like this,” she said. “It felt like the worst day of my life.”

She later praised emergency responders for their fast action, saying their quick response likely prevented what could have been a deadly disaster.

Images from the scene showed the bus and the car sitting just beneath the surface of the river as divers worked to recover them. Meanwhile, police boats continued scanning the water to make sure no one else was involved.

Authorities say the driver did hold the proper license required to operate the bus, but an investigation is now underway to figure out exactly what went wrong.

For now, traffic in the area remains heavily disrupted—and residents are still trying to process how a simple training exercise turned into such a dramatic near-tragedy in a matter of seconds.
