A horrifying rodeo accident in Brazil has left a father of two dead after he was trampled by a bull in front of a shocked crowd — and the terrifying moment was captured on video.
Rafael Silvio Oliveira was competing in the Votu International Rodeo in São Paulo when the deadly accident unfolded.
Disturbing footage from the event shows the bull violently throwing the rider before chaos erupted inside the arena.
As Oliveira attempted to escape, several cowboys rushed in to distract the animal and pull it away from him.
Emergency crews immediately rushed to the scene and treated the injured rider inside the arena before transporting him by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
Despite desperate efforts to save him, Oliveira later died from his injuries at Santa Casa Hospital in Votuporanga.
In a statement, organizers of the Votu International Rodeo 2026 said they were devastated by the tragedy.
“It is with deep sorrow that the organization of the Votu International Rodeo 2026 received the news of the death of athlete Rafael Silvio Oliveira,” the statement read.
Organizers added that Oliveira suffered the fatal injuries while competing in a team event and confirmed he received immediate medical care before being rushed to the hospital.
The rodeo organization also expressed condolences to Oliveira’s family, friends, and teammates, saying they would continue providing support to his loved ones during the heartbreaking ordeal.
The emotional incident quickly spread online after livestream footage of the accident went viral on social media.
“I was watching the livestream, everything was so tense. What a sad ending,” one viewer wrote. “May God comfort his wife and children.”
The tragedy has also renewed conversations about the dangers of professional rodeo competitions and bull riding events.
Sadly, this is not the first fatal rodeo accident in Brazil involving a bucking bull.
Last year, 18-year-old farm worker Kaiky Ferreira da Silva died after being thrown from a bull during another horrifying competition accident.
Video from that incident showed the teenager slamming his head against the animal before crashing motionless to the ground.
