A bull rider was rushed to the hospital after a terrifying rodeo accident in New York City left him bloody and injured, according to police.
The frightening scene unfolded Sunday night in the Bronx during the Rodeo Tierra Caliente, where a 25-year-old man was riding a bull before he was suddenly thrown hard to the ground.
Video obtained by NBC New York reportedly showed the moment the rider was tossed off the bull and then trampled by the animal’s hooves as the crowd watched in horror.

Several handlers immediately rushed into the arena and dragged the injured rider away from the bull to get him to safety.
An off-duty paramedic who was attending the event jumped in to help, according to reports. The rider’s cheek had reportedly been punctured by the bull’s horn, leaving him bleeding heavily.
The paramedic was able to stop the bleeding using her bare hands before emergency crews took over.
The NYPD told TMZ that the rider was rushed to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. Officials did not release the full extent of his injuries.
Police said the bull was secured at the scene after the incident.
