Golfer Struck by Lightning While Playing Alone Wakes Up and Calls 911 (Video)

A solo round of golf turned into a terrifying fight for survival after a golfer was struck by lightning while playing alone and somehow managed to call 911 after regaining consciousness.

The golfer had been out on the course by himself when lightning hit, knocking him unconscious. With no one immediately nearby to help, the situation could have turned deadly in minutes.

But after waking up, the injured man was able to grab his phone and call emergency dispatchers himself.

The shocking incident has stunned golfers and first responders alike, especially because lightning strikes on golf courses are among the sport’s most frightening dangers. Open fairways, metal clubs and sudden storms can create a deadly combination.

Authorities have not released the golfer’s name or the full extent of his injuries, but the fact that he was able to regain consciousness and make the emergency call himself has made the story even more remarkable.
