A shocking case out of Florida has sparked outrage after a woman was accused of deliberately running over a group of baby ducks — multiple times — because she was upset about her yard.

Police say 64-year-old Beverly Sasberry is facing 11 felony counts of animal cruelty following the April 25 incident outside her home in Jacksonville.

According to investigators, witnesses saw Sasberry behind the wheel of her car as she drove over the ducklings, then allegedly turned around and went back over them again.

Authorities say the scene was disturbing.

A pair of passersby reportedly witnessed the incident and later confronted the woman. According to police, she allegedly admitted she did it on purpose because the ducks had made a mess on her property.

The witnesses later turned over video footage to authorities, helping build the case.

The mother duck and two ducklings were able to escape and survive, but the rest of the brood did not.

Days later, deputies spotted Sasberry’s vehicle, pulled her over, and placed her under arrest.

Officials made it clear they are taking the case seriously.

“We do not take animal cruelty lightly,” the sheriff’s office said.

The disturbing incident comes amid growing concern over animal abuse cases in Florida, with several recent incidents involving violence against animals drawing public attention.

  1. I hope the disgusting woman goes to prison for a long time. No bail leave her sit there until court, then off to prison, pure evil.
