A disturbing federal investigation has uncovered alleged child pornography activity involving dozens of cruise ship workers from multiple vessels that recently docked in San Diego — including employees connected to Disney Cruise Line.
According to federal authorities, officers with U.S. Customs and Border Protection boarded eight cruise ships between April 23 and April 27 as part of an ongoing investigation targeting illegal material involving children.
During the operation, investigators interviewed 28 crew members working aboard the ships.
Officials said the findings were deeply alarming.
According to authorities, 27 of the 28 workers interviewed were allegedly found to have either received, possessed, transported, or distributed child pornography.
One of the cruise ships involved in the investigation was reportedly connected to Disney Cruise Line, where several employees were detained.
Disney later confirmed that any workers connected to the allegations are no longer employed by the company.
“We have a zero-tolerance policy for this type of behavior and fully cooperated with law enforcement,” a Disney Cruise Line spokesperson said in a statement.
“While the majority of these individuals were not from our cruise line, those who were are no longer with the company.”
Federal officials have not yet announced whether criminal charges have been formally filed against any of the suspects.
Authorities also declined to publicly identify the individuals involved.
Officials said the group included 26 crew members from the Philippines, one from Portugal, and one from Indonesia.
According to Customs and Border Protection, all of the workers involved had their visas revoked and were sent back to their home countries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
