Drivers in a Canadian suburb were left completely stunned after a violent motorcycle crash somehow sent a bike flying into the air — where it ended up dangling from a traffic light above a busy intersection.

The bizarre accident happened Saturday afternoon in Delta, a suburb near Vancouver, British Columbia.

According to local police, officers responded to reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a silver sedan near the intersection of Scott Road and 72nd Avenue shortly before 3 p.m.

But when emergency crews arrived, they were met with a scene that looked straight out of an action movie.

Photos from the crash showed the motorcycle hanging high above the intersection by its front wheel after somehow becoming tangled in the traffic signal structure.

Authorities say the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries, though thankfully they were not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the sedan was reportedly unharmed.

So far, investigators still have not explained exactly how the motorcycle launched into the air or how it became wrapped around the traffic light pole.

Delta firefighters later shared photos and details from the chaotic scene online.

“Our crews worked throughout the incident to assist with patient care, scene safety, and later the safe removal of the motorcycle from the traffic light,” the department said.

Witnesses who saw the crash in person said they could hardly believe what they were looking at.

One bystander told CBC News he initially spotted the damaged sedan and began searching the area for the motorcycle.

“I was looking down and then I looked up and the bike was above,” he said.

“Kind of crazy.”

Another witness compared the shocking scene to something out of a Hollywood movie.

“You’d think it would launch to the sidewalks or businesses,” another onlooker said.

“But to perfectly get up there and wrap itself around… it’s wow.”

Authorities shut down nearby streets while crews worked to safely remove the motorcycle and clear debris from the roadway.

Firefighters also used the incident as a reminder for drivers and riders to stay alert on the roads.

“A moment of caution can make all the difference,” the department said.
