A small plane crashed into Beijing’s famous CITIC Tower on Friday, sending debris raining down near one of the city’s most recognizable skyscrapers.
Video posted on social media appeared to show the aircraft breaking apart as it fell from the sky after the crash. The footage captured a chaotic scene as pieces of the plane scattered around the area.
CITIC Tower, also known as China Zun, is the tallest building in Beijing and one of the city’s most iconic high-rises.

Despite the terrifying crash, early footage did not appear to show major damage to the skyscraper itself. Large pieces of debris were seen on the ground nearby, including what appeared to be the aircraft’s tail section lying in the street.
Police responded to the scene, and the building was reportedly evacuated as authorities worked to secure the area.
The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
Officials have not yet released details about who was on board the plane or whether anyone was injured or killed.
The incident remains under investigation, and more details are expected as authorities continue to respond.
