Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie quietly reignited royal drama this week by skipping Kate Middleton’s “Together at Christmas” carol service—despite a personal invitation from the Princess of Wales aimed at smoothing things over after their father Andrew’s spectacular downfall.

Instead of showing up at Westminster Abbey, the sisters posted a polished apology on Instagram. “Wish Bea and I could have been celebrating tonight with our family,” Eugenie wrote, praising Kate’s “incredible” event while offering no explanation for their absence.

The snub lands as King Charles continues distancing the monarchy from Andrew, who was stripped of his title, kicked out of Royal Lodge, and thrust back into headlines by Virginia Giuffre’s memoir and new Epstein file releases.

Beatrice and Eugenie, still full-title royals, are reportedly being shielded from the fallout—though Charles is said to be considering expanding their duties.

Kate’s service carried on without them—and without the King or Queen—leaving Kate, William, and their three children as the top-ranking royals in attendance. Stars like Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor performed, marking another step in Kate’s return to public life after her 2024 cancer treatment.
