Barron Trump told British authorities his body was “racing with adrenaline” after he witnessed a close female friend being assaulted by her ex-boyfriend during a FaceTime call, a UK court heard this week.
The 19-year-old son of Donald Trump alerted police in London after realizing his friend was in the middle of a violent confrontation with her former partner, Matvei Rumianstev, early last year, according to reports from the UK.
Prosecutors described an email Barron sent to authorities as they laid out the case against the suspect in court on Thursday.
In the message, Barron said the incident unfolded quickly but left a lasting impact on him.
“What I saw was very brief indeed but indeed prevalent,” he wrote, adding that he was “racing with adrenaline” as he tried to get help for his friend.
Barron also told investigators that he urged two friends in the United States to contact UK police on his behalf.
“I made two of my friends call the Met Police in the UK, even though they are in the US,” he wrote in the email shown in court.
While he acknowledged he did not have direct evidence of the alleged assault, Barron explained that the victim — whom he described as someone he is “very close with” — had told him she had been dealing with ongoing problems involving her ex for some time.
The email was presented during proceedings at Snaresbrook Crown Court as prosecutors continued building their case against Rumianstev.
