Cori Broadus, the 26-year-old daughter of rap legend Snoop Dogg, shared heartbreaking news over the weekend: her 10-month-old baby girl, Codi Dreaux, has passed away.
Cori posted the announcement on Instagram Stories on Saturday, Jan. 31, uploading a black-and-white photo of herself holding baby Codi with the message, “Monday I lost the love of my life. My Codi,” followed by an angel emoji. The image showed the young mom smiling softly as she cradled her daughter — a moment now frozen in time.
Cori’s fiancé, Wayne Deuce, also shared his grief online, posting several photos of himself with Codi. “I been the saddest since u left me Codi Dreaux. But I know u at peace. Daddy will always love you,” he wrote. In another slide, he simply added: “My baby.”
Baby Codi’s story has been a difficult one from the beginning. Cori revealed in early 2025 that her daughter was born three months premature, arriving at just 25 weeks. In her birth announcement, she described the emotional rollercoaster she faced as a new mother navigating fear, self-doubt, and faith. “Baby girl came at 25 weeks today and she’s perfect as ever,” she wrote at the time.
Cori later shared that she was forced to deliver via C-section after doctors diagnosed her with HELLP syndrome, a rare but dangerous pregnancy complication. Codi spent the next 10 months in the NICU, defying the odds day by day.
In early January, Cori joyfully revealed that she had finally been able to bring her daughter home. “She’s home,” she wrote in a Jan. 6 post showing the two snuggled together in bed. “Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all.”
Cori first announced her pregnancy in December 2024, telling E! News that she discovered she was expecting on Oct. 28 and that doctors had considered her a high-risk case. Despite the challenges, she said she felt protected: “God has his hands on me.”
Now, the Broadus family — and fans across social media — are mourning the loss of baby Codi, a little girl who fought bravely from the moment she entered the world.
