A shocking video out of San Francisco shows the moment a driver in a black Mercedes-Benz allegedly made an illegal turn and slammed into a cyclist before taking off.
The incident happened near the intersection of 8th and Mission streets, where the car is seen pulling into traffic and then suddenly cutting across a designated bike lane.
That’s when everything goes wrong.
The driver appears to make a right turn against a red light — directly into the path of an oncoming cyclist. Video captured by another rider shows the victim desperately hitting the brakes, but it’s not enough to avoid the collision.
The cyclist crashes into the car as it cuts across the lane.
But instead of stopping to help, the driver keeps going.
The footage shows the Mercedes weaving through traffic and fleeing the scene, leaving the injured rider behind.

The person filming quickly rides over to check on the victim. Thankfully, both cyclists appear to avoid serious injuries based on the video.
A closer look at the footage shows the driver as a man with a short white beard, wearing a cap and dark sunglasses.
As of now, police say no official report had been filed.
Under California law, drivers involved in a crash are required to stop immediately, exchange information, and report the incident if there’s any injury or damage. Failing to do so can lead to serious charges, especially in cases involving injuries.
For now, the video is raising serious questions — and a lot of anger — over a crash that could have ended much worse.
