A relaxing day at the beach turned into a bizarre and frightening scene in Florida after a man allegedly chased people with a drill and threatened to kill someone.

Police say 50-year-old Yacov Levi was arrested in Surfside after causing chaos on a private condo beach.

According to authorities, the incident started when Levi approached beachgoers and asked to sit in a chair. When he was told he couldn’t because he didn’t live there, things quickly escalated.

Investigators say Levi became enraged, first attempting to swing a beach umbrella at someone nearby.

Moments later, the situation took a disturbing turn.

Police say Levi grabbed a drill and charged at a man while shouting, ā€œI’m going to kill you.ā€ Witnesses reported seeing him running along the beach with the tool, sending people scrambling.

When officers arrived, they found Levi sitting on beach chairs, but the confrontation was far from over.

Bodycam footage reportedly shows multiple officers pointing Tasers at him as they tried to take him into custody. Police say Levi resisted, rolling on the ground and kicking an officer in the legs during the struggle.

At one point, he allegedly used the drill — fitted with a large sand-digging bit — to bore into a beach chair right in front of officers, causing about $500 in damage.

Levi was ultimately arrested and is now facing serious charges, including attempted aggravated battery and battery on a law enforcement officer, along with misdemeanor criminal mischief.

Authorities also noted this isn’t his first run-in with the law on the beach. In 2023, he was arrested for allegedly trying to steal a jet ski while naked, though that case was later dropped.
